Rob Burke received a classic formation but he dedicats, mostly, his music to jazz and rock. He studied a long time with masters by Dave Liebman, Chris Potter, George Garzone and George Coleman in New York. His albums contributed by most eminent Australian artists POP and rock. Last ten years have seen Rob Burke record and publish four CD and exhibit in festival in Australia and in all the world. In 1996 Gateway was recorded in duo with Tony Gould. In 1998 the recording included the violoncello and the musical understanding between Rob and Tony Gould.
Rob exhibited in club of jazz and international festivals, included, `Edinburg Festival', `The Melbourne Festival', `The Adelaide Festival', `Wangaratta Jazz Festival', `The Melbourne Jazz Festival', `Nomea Music Festival', `Ronnie Scotts' (UK), `Jazz Café' (UK).

In 2002, with Tony Gould on piano, Tony Floyd on drums Rob Burke recorded a new CD, Wide Eyed, that collected the applause of critic.
Recently Rob published a CD, The Edge of Today, that reassumes the Melbourne's panorama, with its various styles, including five residents in Melbourne. The group has been exhibited in 2005 in a concert at Umbria Jazz.
