Starting from Tuesday, 1 February 2022, in accordance with Article no. 9 bis of the Decree-Law of 22 April 2021 no. 52 - converted with amendments, by the law of 17 June 2021 no. 87a, - and by the Decree-Law of 7 January 2022 no. 1, to gain access to public offices, possession of the Covid-19 Green Pass Certificate (Green Pass Base in either digital or paper format will be mandatory.
The new rules will remain in force until 31 March 2022. Children under the age of twelve are exempt from Green Pass requirements. The personnel in charge will carry out inspections using the VerificaC19 app, developed by the Ministry of Health. Mask wearing from the age of 6, temperature measurement and hand sanitizing upon entrance continue to be obligatory. In compliance with article no. 9 paragraph 2 of the Decree-Law of 22 April 2021, no. 52, converted, with amendments by the law of 17 June 2021, no. 87, the “Green Pass base" is issued to certify one of the following conditions:
a) the completion of the anti-SARS -Cov-2 vaccination cycle
b) the recovery from Covid-19 and the ending of the required quarantine period after a SARS-CoV2 infection, as per Ministry of Health circulars regarding SARS-CoV-2 infection
c) a negative antigen or molecular swab test for COVID-19
Possession of the Covid-19 Green Pass Certificate is not required for the following situations:
policing and security matters (local police stations remain open to the public for nondeferrable institutional activities, prevention and repression of offences)
legal and judicial matters (public offices for social and health services will remain open to the public exclusively for urgent and nondeferrable necessities, like complaints by the victims of crimes or requests for judicial interventions to protect minors or incapable persons, or to carry out investigations and judicial action for which the presence of the person summoned is necessary).
