Pitti Immagine Filati: 2007-08 fall winter collections of yarns for the knitting industry<BR>Florence, Fortezza da Basso, 5/7 July 2006

Florence, 5 July 2006- A unique concept, plus an effective, targeting strategy makes Pitti Immagine Filati not only the trade-fair par excellence for the knitting yarn industry, but, more important, a true barometer of what the international market is doing.
Pitti Immagine Filati represents the sum of excellence in the industry. The exhibitors are the world’s finest manufacturers of yarns for the knitwear industry, the best in technological innovations for the textile industry and providers of complementary services and products.

Pitti Immagine Filati’s leadership is confirmed by its audience comprising representatives of the creative world dedicated to producing and designing the fashion product, and by the increase in the number of exhibitors who will participate in the next edition. And this increase, points strongly to signals of recovery in the textile industry. 6,885 buyers at the last summer edition
3,313 of which (48 % of the total) were from abroad
The main foreign reference markets: Germany, Great Britain, United States, Japan, France, Spain, Hong Kong, Turkey, Holland, Austria and China.
The main expanding foreign markets: United States, Great Britain and Japan
The only one of its kind in the world, a trend workshop/laboratory, the Spazio Ricerca – coordinated by fashion designer Angelo Figus, and assisted by knitwear expert Nicola Miller – is the key part of the event.

It is a visual installation, a blend of fashion, art and design, that uses knits to convey the inspirational inputs for the fashions of the coming seasons. The Spazio Ricerca at Pitti Filati 59 is Bodybazaar, a structural analysis of the human body and its relationships with esthetics and biotechnology, the quest for immortality and perfection. And all this serves as the background for the research and development of yarns and knit fashions for the 2007-2008 fall winter season. Fashion at Work just keeps on growing: there will be 35 exhibitors at this edition.

The section is devoted to complementary businesses and technological experimentation, revealing the major investments on the part of international firms specializing in research and new technologies.
