Donna Donne is an itinerant exhibition of contemporary art, curated by Adelina von Fürstenberg and conceived by the NGO ART for The World on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Declaration of Peking. After Florence it will go on to Brussels and Sao Paolo.

The 33 artists taking part, men and women from Italy and other parts of the world, focus on the principal aspects of the female perception of life and creativity, thus offering a very broad panorama of the different facets of the feminine identity.

Woman in the contemporary world, autobiography and the representation of the female are the principal themes developed in the works on display: paintings, sculptures, photographs and video-installations originating from prestigious European collections as well as from the artists themselves.

The itinerary is structured starting from the works of important artists, most of them born after the mid twentieth century, reflecting the most crucial aspects of the female perception of life and creativity.

Entrusted instead to the works of young artists, from Italy and other countries, is the task of representing the various facets of the female identity, focusing on the problems and prospects of the women of today. For the entire period of the exhibition, every day (opening times 10-19, entrance free) the Festival dei Popoli will present a selection of documentaries from its own archive on major female themes, produced by directors of international fame.
