Anti-war vigil 20 January U.S. Consulate Florence

The US Citizens Against War (Florence) are holding a vigil in front of the US Consulate (Lungarno Vespucci) on Thursday, January 20th, from 3.30 to 5pm. The Presidential Inauguration will take place on that day and our vigil is in solidarity with the thousands (hopefully millions) of people who will be demonstrating in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco and elsewhere throughout the U.S.A., against the U.S. war in Iraq but also to protect the Supreme Court, the economic needs of America's working families, Social Security, civil rights and civil liberties, women¹s rights to choose, and for every U.S.

citizen's right to enjoy clean air and clean water unspoiled by reckless polluters. For further information: tel. 338-8871251 or
United for Peace and Justice encourages everyone to wear a white ribbon to honor all who have died as a result of the Bush Administration¹s policies. White is the symbol for peace in many countries around the world and the symbol of mourning in others. The white ribbon is simple and clear: "We mourn all of the dead. We support the troops. End the war now and bring the troops home."
