The international preview of clothing and accessories collections for children and teens (0 to 18), maternity wear and childcare products for the 2006 spring-summer season

Pitti Immagine Bimbo is the international reference for youth fashions with 7,816 buyers – and about one third of the total from 70 foreign countries – registered at the last summer edition. Pitti Immagine Bimbo (July 1st – 3rd, 2005, at Florence Fortezza da Basso) features trends and novelties from the children’s clothing industry.

It was on 21-24 September 1975, at the Palazzo degli Affari in Florence that the curtain went up on the first edition of Pitti Immagine Bimbo with 70 exhibitors and 2,529 buyers who came to see the show.

Now it’s the summer of 2005 and Pitti Bimbo is celebrating its 30th birthday with a big “Festa in giardino” [Garden Party], with entertainments and dance music. Friday, July 1st, from 7.30 p.m., Pitti Immagine cordially invites the press, the exhibitors and the buyers to share this important occasion in the gardens of Villa Le Corti at San Casciano Val di Pesa, one of the loveliest villas in the Florentine countryside.

Pitti Immagine Bimbo is the primary international event on the children’s clothing scene.

In fact, it is a branch of the fashion industry that has revealed an increasing dynamism in recent years and a remarkable growth in terms of segmentation as well as research on style content. Pitti Bimbo has developed its mission of making the event innovative and design-conscious in all its aspects.

The international dimension of Pitti Immagine Bimbo explains the growing number of applications received each edition from possible exhibitors; this edition over 100 brands applied, many of which from abroad.

The event’s success is confirmed by visitor’s attendance that has been growing steadily over the past six years, in spite of a negative macroeconomic situation and worldwide changes in distribution and marketing systems. Success is further proved by the significant number of prestigious purchasing groups and buyers attending the show from all over the world. Spain is in the lead, followed by Germany, Greece, Great Britain, France, Turkey, Holland, the United States, Japan, Austria, Northern Europe and the Middle East.

With regard to emerging markets, there is a steady rise in the number of buyers from China and Russia.
