Florence – What is creativity and how can it be efficaciously stimulated? Which is the main aspect of the creative process: the individual genius or the environment in which she or he operates? In other words: what does occur to win the Nobel Prize, the award which more celebrate the creativity in all over the world?

Nobel Prizes. A century of creativity is an amazing exhibition of extraordinary intellectual suggestion, which takes inspiration from the men and ideas awarded with the Nobel.
The exhibition investigates the uncertain origins of creativity.
Set up in 2001 in Stockholm by the Nobel Museum to celebrate the centenary of the Nobel Foundation, the exhibition came in Europe after a successful tournèe in Asia and in the U.S.A.. In Florence, the only city in Italy which hosts the event, the exhibition is enriched with a section dedicated to the 19 Italian Laureates, which is arranged by the Institute and Museum of History of Science. On the inauguration day Umberto Eco will present the event in Palazzo Vecchio.
The Nobel awarded Renato Dulbecco, Dario Fo, Riccardo Giacconi, Rita Levi Montalcini, Carlo Rubbia have been invited to the ceremony.
Through suggestive artefacts, efficient multimedia means and impressive films the visitor will come to know all about the work and ideas of the more than 700 Laureates to date, the age in which they operated and the man who created this prestigious award, the Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel, idealist, inventor and cosmopolitan businessman.
